Cast on 121 stitches.

1st row: K 1, * yo, sl 1, K 1, pass slipped stitch over, K 5, K 2 tog, yo, K1, repeat from * across row ending with yo, K1.

2nd row: Purl across row

3rd row: K 2, * yo, sl 1,  K 1, pass slipped stitch over, K 3, K 2 tog, yo, K3, repeat from * across row ending yo, K2.

4th row: Purl across row

5th row: K 3, * yo, sl 1, K 1, pass slipped stitch over, K1, K 2 tog, yo, K5, repeat from * across ending yo, K 3.

6th row: Purl across row

7th row: K 4, *yo, sl 1, K 2 tog, pass slipped stitch over, yo, K 7, repeat from * across row ending yo, K4.

8th row: Purl across row

9th row: K 2, K 2 tog, yo, * K 3, yo, sl 1, K1, pass slipped stitch over, K 3, K 2 tog, yo, repeat from * across row, ending K 3, yo, sl 1, K 1, pass slipped stitch over, K 2.

10th row: Purl across row

Repeat these 14 rows until piece measures 34 inches from beginning, end by working 14th pattern row. Bind off.

EDGE: Attach yarn in corner and work a row of single crochet all around, working 1 single crochet in each stitch across top and lower edge and 3 single crochets in each of the 4 corners and 1 single crochet in every other row at sides. Join. 2nd round: Chain 4, * skip 1 sc, dc in next sc. repeat from * all around, join in 3rd st of ch. Cut yarn

Pompon: (Make 118). Wind yarn 40 times over 2 inch cardboard, slip off cardboard, tie at center. Cut both ends and trim into shape. Tie one pompon in mesh at corner, *skip next mesh, tie one pompon in skipped sc of 2nd round, skip next mesh, tie one pompon in next mesh, repeat from * all around.
