You Know What I Want?
Posted by thedarwinexception on August 4, 2007
You know what I really want for my blog? I want an award.
I mean, I think I should have one. There’s no reason in the world I shouldn’t. But I don’t know how to get one. I mean, you can’t just go and make one up yourself and put the cute little badge over in the sidebar. Well, I guess you actually *could*, but I won’t. And there’s lots of “Top Blogs” lists and stuff, but I think nominating yourself is also kind of tacky.
I like my blog – it’s kind of a nice place for me to come and vent, and to keep track of stuff, and put pictures on that won’t *ever* be lost, and it’s a great way for my family and people I don’t get to see very often to come and see what the hell I’ve been doing, since I never call anybody. And Shit – I got over 100,000 hits in less than a year – I think that’s pretty damned good, considering I’m like pretty much a fucking nobody.
So what do I have to do to get an award? My friend Joeymoggie has a “Thinking Bloggers Award” and I think that’s awesome. But, I checked the rules for that award, and it doesn’t actually mean “a person who thinks, then blogs”, it means “this blog makes me think”, and I don’t qualify for that award, because, really, if anyone is actually “thinking” about the crap on my blog – well, they just have too much brain space and too few thoughts. But Joeymoggie gave me an award once – “Outstanding Female Blogger” – but there wasn’t a little thingy that goes in the sidebar for that award. Figures, you know? The one person who thinks I should have an award doesn’t have extra badges to hand out.
So, I want an award. And I think it’s up to you to get me one. So go get me one – you can even make one up – make me a little badge thing, and I’ll put the best ones (or probably all of them, actually), in the sidebar.
So that’s your challenge – go get me an award, and you know you have time – you’re here reading this crap, aren’t you, so you know you don’t have a lot to do at the moment.

I’ve only been reading your blog a week or so but in that short time, I agree you deserve an award and if I knew how to get you one, I’d do it.
You use the “ef” word more than anyone I know and get by with it. For some reason you make it sound OK. Hey, I use it too but I grimace and think I should have been more original or specific. Now for your award. I think for the Spector reporting alone you should have like “Cussin’ Court Reporter Cup”. I’ll try to think of something else but imagine a cup (not the bra) but like Wimbledom Tennis and a gavel on it or something and, of course, your name and hometown.

I agree that you deserve an award Kim. Dominick loves reading you. Says you’re good.
I don’t think you want to apply, but this site does blog “smack” ratings, and also gives out an annual “fucktard of the year” award.

I would nominate you in the blink of an eye for an Award for Outstanding Reportage. Where do I go?
It can only be a matter of time.

Ok, I nominated you. Was it the Kindness Award? Maybe it was the Open Mind Award for people who “show respect, civility, and open-mindness.” Ha! I’m not telling.

Hi Kim, I too think you deserve an award! I read here most everyday and depend upon you to tell me what happened in court.
No where else can one get the full report along with quotes to boot. Believe me you are truly appreciated.
I found this article in the media today, and it is rather clumsy. Seems to me, this happened once before, but I cannot recall the article. Ha or maybe it is the same article.
An Oooops OJ on the brain! Well it might be a good idea to change her name. If he was my father, I sure wouldn’t be acknowledging it.

Brittain’s Number 1 quality website, yet!
Snippet—-
Nicole Spector was among the defence’s final witnesses before it wrapped up most of its case yesterday, a week ahead of schedule after deciding to cut up to half a dozen people from its witness list.
It may still be allowed to call forensics expert Dr Henry Lee if he returns from a trip to China in time.
Linda Kenney Baden, one of Spector’s lawyers, asked Miss Simpson a string of questions about her childhood and relationship with her father.
The daughter from the producer’s third marriage said she had lived in her father’s house for the first eight years of her life, then saw him frequently after her parents divorced.

I’ve read through your blog a bit this evening and I totally think you should have all the wards and some that haven’t even been invented yet. But for now, I hereby award you the Rockin’ Girl Blogger Award. Snag the award badge here. The original badge is at the top of the post, and at the very bottom is two versions I made.
